Vol. 495 No. 1

Written Answers. - Departmental Funding.

John Bruton

Question:

357 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will allocate a grant to the Meath Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals which will overcome a long standing financial problem experienced by a person (details supplied) and the Meath Society. [19163/98]

As the Deputy is aware, the Garda authorities have referred this case to the Office of the Attorney General. His directions have not been received to date.

In the circumstances, it would not be appropriate to consider the Deputy's request at this stage. I will keep the Deputy informed of developments.
