Vol. 495 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dublin Traffic Management.

John Gormley

Question:

378 Mr. Gormley asked the Minister for Finance his views on the contribution that could be made to easing traffic congestion in Dublin, in particular through the provision of financial incentives for the development of park and ride facilities; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [21332/98]

The provision of incentives for park and ride facilities and their contribution to easing traffic congestion in Dublin can only be assessed after an analysis is undertaken of all commercial, planning and public transport issues associated with the development of such facilities. I understand that the Dublin Transportation Office is currently examining these issues in consultation with relevant bodies and I will consider the question of providing incentives in this context.
