My views on the role of the voluntary sector in the provision of health services in the long-term are as set out in my Department's strategy statement 1998-2001. The strategy statement acknowledges the vital role played by the voluntary sector in the delivery of health and personal social services and indicates that the voluntary sector will continue to be a most important partner in the provision of these services.
