69 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if he has received proposals from Kildare County Council in relation to the development of a new library, civic offices and a community centre at Newtown, Leixlip, County Kildare; if he will give approval for the proposal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. From inquiries made by my Department with the local authority, it is understood that Kildare County Council is developing proposals in relation to Newtown House, Leixlip, County Kildare which are likely to include proposals for a library and other facilities. The library proposal, when received, will be considered under the Department's funding programme for the public library service.
