Vol. 510 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Lottery Funding.

Austin Deasy

Question:

43 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Finance if he will give a breakdown of the distribution from the proceeds of the national lottery funds in 1998 for areas such as sport and health. [19980/99]

While responsibility for sport rests with the Minister for Sport, Recreation and Tourism and while responsibility for health rests with the Minister for Health and Children, I have overall responsibility for the National Lottery. The total lottery allocation for sport, recreation and amenities was: 1998 £37.219 million.

For presentation purposes it has been the practice to show youth/sport/recreation/amenities together as there is a certain degree of overlap between them.

The figure of £37.219 million was allocated from the following votes:

£m

Tourism, Sport and Recreation

8.302
