Vol. 511 No. 5

Written Answers. - Departmental Staff.

John Perry

Question:

68 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Finance if he will grant a transfer for a person (details supplied) in County Sligo in view of the fact that she has purchased a house and is under financial pressure to repay her mortgage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [24804/99]

The situation is that transfers to provincial locations, such as in this case Sligo, are arranged in accordance with an agreement reached with the staff side at general council under the conciliation and arbitration scheme for the Civil Service. An officer's placing on the transfer list for a particular location is fixed in order of date of receipt of the application in the department concerned. Whenever her placing on a relevant list is reached, the applicant will at that stage be considered for transfer.
