Vol. 512 No. 1

Written Answers. - Schools Building Projects.

Austin Deasy

Question:

215 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will grant approval to St. Declan's community college, Kilmacthomas, County Waterford, for stage four and five of its proposed permanent extension, an application for which was submitted to his Department on 17 August 1999; if he will ensure that there are no further delays in allowing it to proceed to tender stage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25180/99]

The building unit of my Department advised County Waterford Vocational Education Committee to instruct its design team to proceed to a combined stage four-five submission, which is the final stage of architectural planning prior to the invitation of tenders.

The stage four-five submission was received in my Department in sections rather than as a composite submission. The submission is currently being examined. When this analysis is completed, the matter of inviting tenders will be addressed.
