Question:123 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources when an application for tonnage by a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be approved. [2484/00]
Written Answers. - Fishing Vessel Licences.
The person in question is seeking to have two boats licensed under the special scheme for regularising the position of small unlicensed fishing vessels. However, the only recorded correspondence from him in my Department consists of documents received in December 1996, which was well after the closing date of 17 February 1995 for receipt of applications under the scheme. In the circumstances the fishing boats concerned are not eligible for consideration for licensing under the scheme.
