Vol. 515 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

60 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Finance the actions, if any, the Office of Public Works has taken to finalise arrangements in respect of site acquisition and construction of a Garda station at Leixlip, County Kildare; if negotiations are ongoing with possible vendors; if final offers have been made or are pending; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [6516/00]

The Commissioners of Public Works are continuing to press Kildare County Council to provide details of the portion of the Newtown House site that will be made available for the new Garda station.

The commissioners are not aware of any other potentially suitable properties on the market at present but are continuing to monitor the position in this regard.
