Vol. 515 No. 5

Written Answers. - Tribunals of Inquiry.

Bernard Allen

Question:

69 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will reconsider the recent offer of financial assistance to the Irish Haemophilia Society towards the costs incurred by it in the hepatitis C tribunal in view of the fact that the society considers that the offer made by his Department makes no provision for expert assistance to interpret medical data and the delays, arising from the disagreement, may seriously delay the start of the tribunal. [6493/00]

I am currently involved in further discussions with the Irish Haemophilia Society on my offer of financial assistance to the society towards its legal and other costs associated with the tribunal of inquiry into the HIV and hepatitis C infection of persons with haemophilia, and related matters.
