152 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if candidates photographs and political party symbols will be placed on the ballot papers for all future elections, including Dáil, European and Local elections; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [15852/00

Minister for the Environment and Local Government (Mr. Dempsey):

The Government has recently given approval to the drafting of legislation to provide for the use of photographs and party logos on ballot papers at all elections.
