258 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when grant funding will be made to sport and community groups under funding from the national lottery. [17071/00]

The sports capital programme for 2000 was widely advertised and over 1,650 completed applications were received by the closing date. All applications received under the programme are being evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the appli cation form. I intend to announce the 200 grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment.

259 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when funding will be made available for stage II of the Seán Kelly Sports Centre, Carrick-on-Suir, County Tipperary; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [17102/00]

All applications received under the programme, including from the organisation in question, are being evaluated against the programme's assessment criteria which are outlined in the guidelines which accompanied the application form.

I intend to announce the 2000 grant allocations at the earliest possible date following completion of this assessment.
