355 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Arts, Heritage Gaeltacht and the Islands if she will open negotiations with Coillte with a view to acquiring lands known as Foley's Glen, near Tralee, County Kerry, in order to retain them in public ownership, as these lands are surplus to Coillte's requirements. Dúchas, the heritage service of my Department, has carried out an assessment of the site in question and has concluded that it does not merit designation as a natural heritage area or a special area of conservation. In these circumstances, therefore, my Department has no interest in acquiring the site for conservation purposes.
