Question:

504 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Education and Science the total numbers in primary, secondary, post-leaving certificate, university, institute of technology and other third level education institutions in each of the past five years; and the average cost per person of providing education at each of these levels. [18393/00]

The information requested by the Deputy is set out in the table below.

It gives the total number of full-time students in primary, secondary, post-leaving certificate, university, institute of technology and other third level institutions aided by the Department of Education and Science for 1994-95 to 1998-99.
