38 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for Finance when he expects to receive the report of the working group on strategic issues facing the banking sector which was established in December 1999; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [18157/00]

I understand that the working group is currently finalising its report and I would expect to receive it within the next two weeks. When I have considered the report, I will submit it to Government and I will then arrange for publication as soon as is practical.
