Vol. 525 No. 5

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Service.

John McGuinness

Question:

266 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason for the delay in providing orthodontic treatment for a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow; the reason no further assessment was carried out since 1995 to determine if his situation had worsened; if he will have arrangements made into the required treatment immediately in view of the urgency of the case and the fact that the person is now in second-level education; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25647/00]

As the provision of orthodontic treatment to eligible persons in County Wicklow is the statutory responsibility of the Eastern Regional Health Authority, I have asked the regional chief executive of the authority to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply directly to the Deputy as soon as a matter of urgency.
