307 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Social, Community and Family Affairs if he will immediately provide funding for the provision of extra security guards at Government Buildings, Cranmore, County Sligo, in view of a number of breaches in security that have taken place in recent months. My Department, along with other Government Departments, has offices at Cranmore Road in Sligo. A security firm has been engaged for a number of years to patrol the building from 8.15 a.m. to 6.45 p.m.
The building has recently been equipped with a closed circuit television, CCTV, system and further security features such as perimeter fencing are being considered.
My Department has no plans to engage additional security guards at this time.
