149 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the total costs and fees paid to date arising from the Tribunal of Inquiry into the Beef Industry; if he will give a breakdown of all costs; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [28366/00]
The total cost of the beef tribunal to date is £19,531,213 of which £15,562,808 is in respect of legal fees. Full details of all legal fees are set out in the following table.
In addition, my Department is processing a further cost order, received on 1 December last, to the amount of £94,196.80, in respect of the costs of Hibernia meats.
My Department has not received any further claims to date and would not be aware of the status of cases before the taxing master.
