Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Ivan Yates

Question:

149 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford who erroneously completed an aspect of their application for suckler cow premium quota can have it reconsidered as a category C application; and if there is any remaining quota for which he can be considered for in view of his circumstances. [29637/00]

The person named applied for an allocation of suckler cow quota from the year 2001 national reserve under category A. This category was reserved for farmers who applied for the suckler cow premium scheme for the first time in the year 2000 or who will apply for the first time in the year 2001. As the person named applied for the suckler cow premium scheme in 1999 he did not qualify under that category. His application has been examined under category C under which he has been found to be eligible. He will, therefore, be allocated ten premium rights from this reserve under category C.

Question:

150 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if a person (details supplied) in County Wexford will have suckler cow headage payments issued in view of their written documentary evidence showing their share of the commonage mountain rights and in view of their other land supporting their application; and if approval of this case will be issued as was previously done in other years. [29638/00]

The area aid application submitted by the person named includes parcels which are part of Cullentra commonage on which a cumulative overclaim has arisen. The commonage crosses a county boundary and the boundaries between two parcels can not be easily mapped. The area aid unit through the local inspectorate are currently endeavouring to establish the correct boundaries and resolve this problem as expeditiously as possible. The inspection will be completed shortly and it is hoped that definitive boundaries can be established and payment can issue to the herdowner.

Michael Ring

Question:

151 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason a person (details supplied) in County Mayo was refused assistance under the hardship fund for tuberculosis reactors in view of the fact that they are in desperate need of help. [29646/00]

It is a condition of the hardship grant scheme that eligibility is confined to herdowners whose holding continues to be restricted following a full herd re-test. The holding of the person concerned was derestricted on 10 November 2000 following a first full herd re-test on 2 November 2000 which was clear. As a result, the person concerned is not eligible for any hardship grant payment.

Question:

152 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will receive the grant payment for his slatted shed in view of the fact he has paid his fee for quite some time. [29647/00]

The person named was paid £7375.92 under the national scheme for the control of farm pollution on 7 December 2000.
