Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Flood Relief.

Austin Currie

Question:

172 Mr. Currie asked the Minister for Finance with reference to recommendations made by a group (details supplied) the action which will be taken by his Department to ensure the causes of recent serious flooding are removed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29297/00]

The Office of Public Works is awaiting a response from South Dublin County Council to correspondence regarding the flooding incidences at Lucan, County Dublin, from the River Griffeen in order to determine what assistance they might be able to offer the local authority in this manner. The rationale for the recommendations made by the group will be considered in the context of proposals for alleviating the flooding of the area.
