Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Water Supply.

Jack Wall

Question:

278 Mr. Wall asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if his attention has been drawn to the problems with the water supply in Ballyroe, Athy, County Kildare; if he will provide funding to rectify the matter; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29472/00]

The Kildare water strategy study, which has been included in the Water Services Investment Programme, 2000-2002, as a scheme to advance through planning, will examine potential alternative sources of water supply for the county, including the area in which Ballyroe is located. It is a matter for Kildare County Council to advance the study to the next stage.
