Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Visa Application.

Willie Penrose

Question:

362 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if his Department has received an application for a visa from a person (details supplied); if he will ensure that it is issued prior to 18 December 2000; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [29380/00]

The visa application in question has recently been refused because it had not been established, on the basis of the documentation supplied to my Department, that the applicant would observe the conditions of a visit visa and in particular that she had displayed sufficient evidence of her obligations to return home following her proposed visit.

It is open to the applicant to appeal against the refusal of a visa by writing to the visa appeals officer in my Department.
