Vol. 528 No. 1

Written Answers. - Garda Stations.

Ivan Yates

Question:

371 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the plans he has to provide a new Garda barracks in the village of Adamstown, County Wexford; and if so, the timescale for the provision of the barracks. [29645/00]

Neither I nor my Department has received any formal request from the Garda authorities in relation to the provision of a new Garda Station in Adamstown, County Wexford.

I am informed, however, by the Garda authorities that local Garda management are currently considering a proposal to relocate the existing station in Carrickbyrne to Adamstown on a permanent basis with a view to improving the policing service to both areas.
