Vol. 531 No. 5

Written Answers. - Garda Investigations.

Brian O'Shea

Question:

48 Mr. O'Shea asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will make a statement on the progress of the investigation into allegations that a small number of members of An Garda Síochána operating in the Border areas may have been involved in acts of collusion with paramilitary organisations in the late 1980s and early 1990s. [6148/01]

The Garda investigations have been completed. I have recently received the report of the Garda Commissioner in the matter and I am considering it at present. I expect to be a position to comment more fully on it shortly.
