Vol. 535 No. 3

Written Answers - Garda Deployment.

Cecilia Keaveney

Question:

151 Cecilia Keaveney asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the percentage of female gardaí serving in rural stations outside the Dublin Metropolitan District; and if he has satisfied himself that infrastructural facilities are adequate for the changing gender profile within the force; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12659/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that 46.5% of the total female membership of the Garda Síochána are currently serving in Garda stations outside the DMA, Garda headquarters and the Garda Síochána college.

The Garda authorities state that they are not aware of any inadequacies in the infrastructural facilities for the changing gender profile within the Garda Síochána.
