Vol. 537 No. 2

Written Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

300 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the stage plans are at to connect Craughwell, County Galway, with a new piped water scheme; the source the water will come from; if this has been established; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [16061/01]

Craughwell water supply scheme was approved for funding under the rural towns and villages initiative in 1999. It is proposed that the supply would be by way of an extension of the Loughrea regional water supply scheme, which has Lough Rea as its source. Galway County Council is currently preparing contract documents for the scheme.
