Vol. 537 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospitals Building Programme.

Austin Deasy

Question:

87 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Health and Children if he will immediately provide a design team as requested by the South-Eastern Health Board to carry out the planning for the new hospital to replace St. Joseph's in Dungarvan, County Waterford. [16343/01]

My Department is not aware of any proposals for the replacement of St. Joseph's Hospital, Dungarvan, County Waterford. However, the South-Eastern Health Board have requested approval to appoint a project team for the development of the District Hospital, Dungarvan, and this is being considered in the context of ongoing discussions between the board and my Department to progress individual projects under the national development plan. It is not possible, at this stage, to say when a decision will be made in relation to this request.
