399 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education and Science the situation regarding the provision of a new school in Spiddal, County Galway as a result of the amalgamation of Scoil Mhuire and Scoil Mhichíl Naofa (Scoil Einne), Spiddal; when this work is likely to start; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Architectural planning for a new school in Spiddal, County Galway, is proceeding as quickly as possible, having regard to the large number of school building projects on hand within my Department at present. It is not possible to say at this point when construction will commence.

The school authorities will be kept informed of developments.
