Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Hospital Services.

Tom Enright

Question:

314 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for Health and Children the estimated number of patients in acute hospital beds in the Midland Health Board area who are inappropriately placed and the number of patients on the waiting lists for admission to community hospitals in the Midland Health Board area. [23076/01]

I have made inquiries with the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board who informs me that, at present, there are six patients in acute beds who are inappropriately placed. Information regarding the number of patients on waiting lists for admission to community hospitals is being collated at present by the board and I will arrange for this to be forwarded to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
