Vol. 541 No. 4

Written Answers. - Garda Deployment.

John Dennehy

Question:

430 Mr. Dennehy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform the number of Garda personnel in the Cork city division; and the way in which this has changed over the previous year. [23169/01]

I am informed by the Garda authorities, who are responsible for the detailed allocation of personnel and resources to individual areas, that the personnel strength – all ranks – of the division of Cork city as at 1 October 2001 is 604. This compares to a figure of 592 on 1 October 2000.
