Vol. 541 No. 5

Written Answers. - Office of Public Safety Regulation.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

154 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress which has been made in considering the need for a new authority with overall responsibility for public safety; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [23191/01]

I published last December the report of the Interdepartmental/Agency Review Group on Public Safety. I am still considering the implications of the group's report, including the recommendation to establish an Office of Public Safety Regulation, which requires consultation with Government colleagues.

Question No. 155 answered with Question No. 115.
