110 Mr. S. Ryan asked the Minister for Finance when it is expected that the final report of the Revenue Partnership Intensive Group on the Shadow Economy will be finalised; if it is intended to publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [25362/01]
I understand from the Revenue Commissioners that the report, as finalised, was made available on the Revenue website on Friday, 19 October 2001. The report contains recommendations aimed at improving tax administration so as to deal more effectively with the shadow economy. It will be a matter for the Revenue Commissioners to evaluate the recommendations and to put in train whatever procedures they consider necessary for implementation, taking account of the significant changes already under way in the organisation.
