Vol. 546 No. 1

Written Answers. - Library Projects.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

148 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the position regarding finalisation of agreement in regard to the provision of library and recreational facilities at Newtown House, Leixlip, County Kildare; if this will incorporate town commission offices and accommodation; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31325/01]

I have approved a proposal by Kildare County Council for the acceptance of a tender for the provision of a library at Newtown House, Leixlip. It is envisaged that the new library building will be used for library and related activities. I understand that the Kildare county manager, in consultation with Leixlip Town Commissioners, is making arrangements for the interim and longer term accommodation needs of the commissioners.
