Vol. 546 No. 1

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Perry

Question:

82 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the herd numbers of a person (details supplied) were amalgamated; if he will sanction the nine month premium payment on this animal; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31256/01]

The herd numbers listed in the question relate to two separate individuals, a wife and husband's numbers respectively, but to a single farming enterprise for the purposes of livestock premia payments.

A special beef premium application in respect of a total of five animals was submitted on 10 April under the husband's herd number. Payment issued in respect of four animals on 31 October. The fifth animal, tag number 32150913/0019, is shown on the CMMS as being part of the wife's herd number and was not processed for payment on the herd of application.
Payment in respect of the fifth animal on the application will issue within the next three weeks.

Question:

83 Mr. Perry asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will rescind a decision on an application for area aid by a person (details supplied) in County Sligo; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31257/01]

The medical certificate submitted by the herdowner confirming that he was unfit to submit his area aid application at the appropriate time has now been accepted. A 2001 area aid application form has been sent to the person named so that he can outline his 2001 claim. When this completed application is returned his area aid application will be processed as quickly as possible.
