Vol. 546 No. 1

Written Answers. - Milk Quotas.

Michael Creed

Question:

89 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if he will issue additional milk quota to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [31346/01]

I introduced a scheme for the allocation of milk quota to producers who are experiencing quota problems as a result of animal movement restrictions due to the foot and mouth disease outbreak. The person named made an application under this scheme and received an allocation of 4,000 litres. He has subsequently submitted an appeal against this decision and the milk quota appeals tribunal will consider this appeal in the near future. He will be notified of the outcome in due course.
