Vol. 546 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

352 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Tourism, Sport and Recreation when a lottery grant payment will be made to Ahascragh Gaelic Athletic Association Club, Ballinasloe, County Galway; if this grant was approved 12 months ago; and if so, the reason it has not been made. [31742/01]

A grant of £10,000 – 12,697 – was provisionally allocated to Ahascragh hurling club under the 2000 Sports Capital Programme, administered by my Department. The grant allocation was in respect of the construction of dressing rooms and the purchase of equipment and was subject to the terms and conditions of the programme.

The club was advised at the time of the grant allocation of documentation required to draw down the grant. Although some of this documentation was submitted, some is still outstanding. My Department has recently reminded the club of these required documents and still awaits a reply. When this documentation is received and found to be in order, payment of the grant will be made to the club.
