157 Dr. O'Hanlon asked the Minister for Health and Children if his attention has been drawn to a radio interview (details supplied); his views on the circumstances; if the North-Eastern Health Board has a policy on this issue; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [5238/02]

Responsibility for the provision of services at Monaghan General Hospital rests with the North-Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position in relation to this case and to reply to the Deputy directly.
