362 Ms Clune asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government the progress he has made to ensure that local authorities are not obliged to collect refuse from households that have not paid service charges; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [10232/02]

The substance and implications of the Supreme Court judgment delivered on 8 November 2001, including the possible need for appropriate legislative provision, are currently being considered in my Department.
