Amendments to Standing Orders: Motion.

I move:

"(1) That the following resolutions of Dáil Éireann are hereby amended by the deletion of ‘, until further notice in the 28th Dáil'–

(a) Resolution of 13 November 1997 in relation to an amendment to Standing Order 78 inserting a new paragraph (3), instructing select committees to which Bills are referred that no more than two select committees shall meet on any given day to consider a Bill, and

(b) Resolutions of 30 September 1999:

(i) in relation to an amendment to Standing Orders 35 and 39, which extended the time for Priority Questions from 20 minutes to 30 minutes and which allocated six minutes to each Priority Question,

(ii) in relation to an amendment to Standing Orders 37 and 41, which allocated six minutes to each oral question,

and the said amendments shall have permanent effect.

(2) That Standing Order 38 is hereby amended by the insertion of the following paragraph after paragraph (iii):

‘(iii a) Questions for answer on any one day shall be placed on the Order Paper so as to rotate between groups in opposition, with preference being given to the larger group (preference being decided by lot in any case of equality between groups).'.”
