Vol. 552 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Paul Connaughton

Question:

93 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development when a 2001 suckler cow grant will issue to a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [12439/02]

The person named did not apply for premium under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme. He has, in fact, leased out his suckler cow quota rights.

Gerry Reynolds

Question:

94 Mr. G. Reynolds asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development the reason for the delay in paying the outstanding amount due to a person (details supplied) in County Leitrim in relation to a 2001 headage payment. [12440/02]

The person named added a new plot of land to his 2001 area aid application. This plot has been entered on the Department's electronic database. The 2001 area aid application for the person named has been fully processed with an area determined for payment purposes of 20.06 hectares. The person named was paid his full entitlement under the 2001 area based compensatory allowance scheme on 26 September 2001 based on 20.06 hectares.

John McGuinness

Question:

95 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Rural Development if his Department will arrange an appeal in the case of a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny. [12478/02]

As stated in my reply to Parliamentary Question No. 136 of 17 April 2002, the person named has been advised that he can appeal the decision refusing his application under the 2001 suckler cow premium scheme by contacting my Department with any new documentary evidence that may assist his appeal. This appeal must be at the instigation of the person named.
