Vol. 553 No. 5

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Ring

Question:

162 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the reason all of Clare Island, County Mayo, has been deemed to be lowland, when the island farmers had believed it was mountain-type land, which has resulted in them being ineligible for the area based payments top-up. [14615/02]

I understand all land on Clare Island should be classified as mountain type grazing. I am having the matter examined with a view to ensuring that any outstanding payments are made as soon as possible.
