Vol. 553 No. 5

Written Answers. - Passport Applications.

Mary Upton

Question:

198 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will end the discrimination faced by the over-70s who cannot acquire 10-year passports; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [14755/02]

I am happy to advise the Deputy that persons over 65 years of age may obtain either a three year or ten year passport. The fees respectively are €12 and €57. These fees have remained unchanged since 1992, other than on the occasion of the introduction of the euro, when they were rounded down to the nearest euro.
