Vol. 553 No. 5

Written Answers. - Roads Funding.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

373 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment and Local Government if additional funding will be allocated to enable work to continue on the R251 road, County Donegal. [14629/02]

My Department has allocated a provision of €1.540 million to Donegal County Council in 2002 for the R251 Glenveagh-Dunlewey, known as the Back of Errigal Road, under the EU co-financed specific improvement grants scheme. This is in addition to 2000 and 2001 payments of €1.397 million and €1.016 million, respectively, for the R251. It will be open to Donegal County Council to prioritise this road for further funding when my Department shortly seeks applications under the above scheme for 2003.
