Written Answers. - Services for People with Disabilities.

Question:

89 Mr. F. McGrath asked the Minister for Health and Children if a nursing service will be provided for a person (details supplied) in Dublin 5; and if this person will receive the service for a very short period each day in order to further their education and development in line with the proposed Disability Bill 2003. [3027/03]

The provision of health related services to people with disabilities is a matter for the Eastern Regional Health Authority and the health boards in the first instance. Accordingly, the Deputy's question has been referred to the deputy chief executive officer of the Eastern Regional Health Authority with a request that he examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.

Question:

90 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for Health and Children when a new wheelchair will be provided for a person (details supplied) in County Galway; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [3028/03]

The provision of aids and appliances to people with physical and sensory disabilities including the provision of wheelchairs is a matter for the relevant health board. Accordingly, a copy of the Deputy's question has been referred to the chief executive officer, Western Health Board, with a request that she examine the matter and reply directly to the Deputy as a matter of urgency.
