Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - General Medical Services Scheme.

John McGuinness

Question:

341 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the chiropody services available to public patients in County Carlow; if this service was available in the past; if it was reduced or discontinued; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [4290/03]

Responsibility for the provision of services for medical card holders is, by legislation, a matter for the chief executive officer of the relevant health board. Accordingly, my Department has referred the matter to the chief executive officer of the South-Eastern Health Board for investigation and direct reply to the Deputy.
