Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - National Roads Projects.

Richard Bruton

Question:

392 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Transport the estimate of the cost, when first considered for approval, in respect of the 30 or more major inter-urban and Dublin routes completed under the NDP; the cost when tenders were first approved; and the cost of the fully completed projects. [4770/03]

Under the Roads Act 1993, the NRA has overall responsibility for the planning and supervision of works for the construction and maintenance of national roads. It is a matter for the NRA, within the NDP framework, to promote the detailed programming of the work required and to manage, in co-operation with local authorities, the planning, design and implementation of individual road development projects.

The information requested by the Deputy may be appropriately sought from the NRA.
