Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - Industrial Development.

John Deasy

Question:

162 Mr. Deasy asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the progress which has been made by the IDA in promoting a company (details supplied) in County Waterford; if she give details of the other projects which have been established in Dungarvan through the efforts of the IDA over the past five years; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4527/03]

IDA Ireland continue to promote the advance manufacturing facility which is located at the IDA business park in Dungarvan, Waterford. The Irish Business Against Litter Group – IBAL – sponsored the building of this 28,000 square feet facility, which offers a large open production and manufacturing floor of 25,000 square feet and a smaller office area of 3,000 square feet.

There have been a number of meetings this year between IDA Ireland and Waterford County Council, also involving the Waterford County Enterprise Board, concerning the marketing of the building. Both the IDA's south east regional office and IDA's property division based in Athlone, are involved in marketing the facility to new and existing foreign direct investment companies. Full details of the building are available to all IDA staff, including their overseas network, on IDA's property database. The starting point with any potential itinerary is to agree on the regions or cities and towns that the company will visit. Suitable property based on that company's requirements is then shown as part of the itinerary.
