Vol. 561 No. 4

Written Answers. - Industrial Development.

Tom Hayes

Question:

191 Mr. Hayes asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the reason a recent application from the Tipperary business development forum was not accepted, as Tipperary town is involved in the RAPID Programme. [4602/03]

I take it that the Deputy is referring to an application submitted by the Tipperary Business Development Forum to Skillsnet for funding for a training programme. Skillsnet is a private company and my Department is not involved in the day to day operations of the company or in its decision making. I am therefore not in a position to give an explanation as to why the application for funding in this instance was not accepted.

Billy Timmins

Question:

192 Mr. Timmins asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the land banks in County Wicklow which are owned by the IDA; the exact location, size and ownership of each land bank; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4633/03]

The following table outlines IDA Ireland's portfolio of land available for industrial promotion in the Wicklow region as at 13 February 2003:

Brian O'Shea

Question:

193 Mr. O'Shea asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment the national development plan outlay in the Waterford constituency for 2002; the percentage this was of her Department's total national plan outlay for 2002; and if she will make a statement on the matter. [4705/03]

My Department is the designated managing authority for two of the operational programmes under the national development plan. These are the productive sector operational programme and the employment and human resources development operational programme. My Department is also responsible for a number of measures under the regional operational programmes. Expenditure under all the programmes is reported at Nuts II level, that is, BMW and southern and eastern Regions, to the respective monitoring committees and is not, therefore, available at county level. Spending for the full year 2002 will be reviewed at the spring monitoring committee meetings to be held in April 2003.
