Information is collected on the number of all children placed in foster care. This information is not broken down to indicate the number of unaccompanied asylum seeking minors placed in foster care. However, the Eastern Regional Health Authority has indicated that eight unaccompanied minors were placed in foster care in 2001. A total of 96% of the unaccompanied minors in the care of the ERHA in 2001 were aged 15 years and over.
