168 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he has received the report of the expert group on the reform of the libel laws, which he informed Dáil Éireann on 6 February 2003 was expected in a matter of weeks; if it is intended to publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The report of the legal advisory group on defamation has not yet been submitted to me. However, I understand that this report should be with me shortly. I should add that it is less than six months since the group was formally established and, given the complexity of the subject matter, it is not surprising that more time was needed for the conclusion of the work than was originally contemplated.
